Nokia X- Series Phones..

Buzzes over at the internet are saying that the Nokia X3 from Xseries edition is about to come to US. Some time ago FCC has approved a Nokia device called RM-687… According to its visible specs, which includes CDMA and EV-DO connectivity, it seems that the Nokia RM-687 is actually the Nokia X3 CDMA EV-DO version from Xseries.
There are two possibilities here. The Nokia X3 might come to two different provider, which are Verizon and Sprint. However, since according to the history Sprint NEVER release a Nokia phone, there’s a big chance that the X3 will come to Verizon U.S.

Nokia X3: Main disadvantages/weaknesses

You have seen the Nokia X3 specs and features; and what do you think about it? This time we will give our version of the Nokia X3 main disadvantages and weaknesses. This is mainly our personal opinion, so you are free to disagree :) Some of the disadvantages/weaknesses is pretty understandable since the phone is aimed to fulfill low-middle market.Nokia X3 disadvantages and weaknesses:
  • No 3G (fatal weakness I think)
  • No screen auto rotation (accelerometer)
  • Display is considerably small, not to mention poor viewing angles and sunlight legibility
  • Slider action has an unpleasant plastic-on-plastic friction
  • S40 interface feels clunky and out of date
  • No true multitasking
  • No smart dialing or an office document viewer
  • A bunch of software bugs
  • Video recording maxes out at QCIF@15fps
Now what do you think of the list? Share your opinion here… We also have the Nokia X3 review for your reference. Have fun!

Nokia X9 Concept and Estimated Specs and Features

There’s an interesting concept of a new Nokia Xseries phone, called the Nokia X9. Although this is not the real deal and it’s only a concept, the X9 is still attractive for me.This time around we will discuss about the detail of the Nokia X9, along with some of the predicted specifications and features.
Basically the X9 is an upgrade of X6 with some great features, some of them are a large capacitive display, camera that can record video and HD 720p after quad LED Xeon module. The X9 also support memory cards such as microSD, and also mini HDMI output for connection to a TV.
In this X9 concept, there’s dual micro USB so that the X9 can function as a USB hub for various devices but also as a charger, a feature especially useful after the adoption of a standard mini USB for charging of smartphones.
Unfortunately, the batteries are left behind in development and large screens consume much energy but need 24 / 7 internet connection is necessary. For that integrates Nokia X9 AMOLED screen just below the large multi touch screen. Consider an Optimus Maximus keyboard minified to serve the basic needs for informing the user without having to check the display constantly. The surface can be configured for notification of new messages from Facebook, DM on Twitter, SMS, missed calls, etc.
In the middle is the key, touch sensitive home button with multiple functions. Single touch for transfer to the home screen. Single touch and wipe down to unlock the device. Single touch and wipe up for instant control of social status on Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc. without having to operate the mobile screen, without additional energy consumption. Practically, the user need not deal with the mobile phone because the cause to be alert to what happens (push notifications) but gives the possibility to check on demand. When the user decides to see what happens in Facebook, Twitter and your inbox operating undertakes to show the avatar of the contact list and do assign to each of these respective event. The AMOLED screen automatically updates via the news ticker on major event Foursquare eg if a friend is nearby.

In the musical features that Xseries phone usually stands out, this Nokia X9 offers playlist or entire album sharing via OTA (Over The Air). To respect the music owners, people who receives the playlist/album will be charged with a discounted price. Now how interesting is that? Anyway, do you think that there’s anything more to be added in this Nokia X9 specs and features? Share some comments..

Nokia X6 vs HTC HD2 Comparison: What are The differences?

Nokia X6 vs HTC HD2 Comparison

Nokia X6 vs HTC HD2 Comparison
In this Nokia Xseries blog, we always try to give our readers the best insight of Nokia Xseries phones. We’ve discussed about the Nokia X6 vs N97 comparison, and this time we will do a comparison between  Nokia X6 vs HTC HD2 (previously known as HTC Leo) based on their design, specifications and features. So let’s just start it, shall we?
Question to be asked: Which one is better: Nokia’s first capacitive touchscreen phone or the first Windows Mobile smartphone ever to have a capacitive touchscreen?
Just like usual we will first talks about the Nokia X6 and HTC HD2 similarities, and then we will compare the differences found on the Nokia X6 vs HTC HD2.
Both Nokia X6 and HTC HD2 has:
  • Same GPRS, 2G and 3G network coverage
  • GPRS class 32, EDGE class 32, 3G (HSDPA) 3.6 Mbps
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g
  • 3.5mm standard audio jack
  • Bluetooth and microUSB
  • Radio
  • Same UI (Symbian S60v5)
  • GPS, Java
Now let’s go to the differences between the two:
CPU Speed and Memory comparison
In this section Nokia X6 is way behind the HTC HD2. Nokia X6 only utilizes an ARM 11 434 MHz processor, while HTC HD 2 boasting with Qualcomm SnapDragon 1GHz processor. That’s a HUGE diffference. However, Nokia X6 has a bigger internal memory with 32GB of storage. But wait a minute, it’s true that HTC HD2 only has 448 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM as its internal memory. But it also has one thing that Nokia X6 doesn’t: A MicroSD Cardslot (up to 32GB).
Design and Display Comparison
In this section the Nokia X6 stands out. Compared to the BIG and chunky HTC HD2, Nokia X6 fits more at your hand. Not to mention the stylish look of the Nokia X6. The design of HTC HD2 is kinda dull, in my opinion…. It does smaller than the Toshibe TG01, but it is nowhere near a compact phone. So it might be a bit uncomfortable for first users. It’s quite slim though. Almost 3mm slimmer than the X6.
One of the main reason the HTC HD2’s BIG size is the HUGE screen. It has 4.3″ 65K-color WVGA glass-covered capacitive touchscreen. In HTC HD2 color banding is easily visible on multiple screens throughout the interface and on some of the preinstalled wallpapers as well, thanks to the low 65K-color. Nokia X6 also uses a capacitive touchscreen, but with much better color resolution of 16M-color.
Both screen share the same weakness: legibility under direct sunlight is far from perfect.
User Interface Comparison
In this section, the Nokia X6 is also behind, since there is almost nothing new in the software package (symbian S60v5). Meanwhile, HTC has decided to upgrade the old but still cool TouchFLO 3D with all heart-melting features found in the Sense UI pioneered on the HTC Hero. The result is a new Sense user interface resembling the tabbed TouchFLO with more content and full of eye-candy. It’s fast and flawless.
Speaker Loudness Test
In a test conducted by GSMarena, HTC HD (again) has a better speaker. The overall score for speaker verdict was “very good” ; compared to the X6’s verdict which was “good”
Audio Quality and Music Features Comparison
Being a Music phone, this is the part where Nokia X6 overcome the HTC HD2. Not only because it has better audio quality, Nokia X6 also offers features that the HTC HD2 doesn’t provide, which are Ovi Store and Comes with Music service. With Nokia X6 you’ll get 1-year free unlimited downloads of the music you like! Imagine that?
Camera Comparison
Both HTC HD2 and Nokia X6 has a 5 MP camera with dual LED flash, autofocus and a maximum image resolution of 2592×1944 pixels. However, X6 utilizes a Carl-Zeiss optics, promising nice photos with a lot of detail….
Conclusion
In terms of hardware, it is undoubted that the HTC HD2 is way beyond the Nokia X6. The snapdragon and the User Interface is the main part where The X6 is lacking. However, if you are a person who prefer style and music, the Nokia X6 might be your answer. With the Comes with Music (1 Year of free music downloads), Ovi Store, and great audio quality, the Nokia X6 truly live up its expectation as a music phone.
Price Comparison: Coming soon (waiting for official price of HTC HD2)

Nokia X6 Review From Nokia XSeries Blog

Nokia X6 Review
Nokia X6 Review
If you are looking for a Music phone, the Nokia X6 is your answer. Before the Xseries is launched, Nokia made a move with its XpressMusic series (with the Nokia 5800XM as the front liner). However, some people think that the XpressMusic phones haven’t optimize the music capabilities. Now Nokia answer it by launching the Xseries phones, including the Nokia X6.
What we have here is a review on the Nokia X6 music phone, especially the 32GB version and we later will talk about the specs, display, design, price, etc
Nokia X6 Specifications and Features
  • 3.2 inch touchscreen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio (360×640 pixels)
  • OS: Symbian S60 rel 5
  • CPU ARM 11 434 MHz processor
  • 32GB of internal memory
  • 128 MB of RAM
  • HSDPA 3.6 Mbps
  • Wi-Fi
  • Full web browser and Flash Lite support
  • USB and Bluetooth
  • A-GPS
  • TV-out
  • 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens and dual LED flash
  • 35 hours of music playback
  • 3.5mm Standard headset jack
  • Java support
  • Battery: 1350 mAh
  • Standby time up to 420h, talktime up to 8h 30m
Nokia X6 Display: Responsive Capacitive Screen
Unlike the 5800 XM’s resistive touchscreen, Nokia X6 uses capacitive touchscreen. This makes X6 feels like the 5800 reborn; it is responsive and nice! Not to mention the better design with a sleek, angular body compared to the Nokia 5800 XM chunky design.
However, there is a small problem. The X6 uses a touchscreen-orientated version of Nokia’s Symbian operating system, which isn’t the smoothest or most user-friendly system out there. For example, you have to tap an option once to open it in some places, and you have to double tap in other places. It’s not a huge problem, but it can get annoying.
The X6’s capacitive touchscreen makes it feel more responsive than other touchscreen Nokia phones, because you don’t have to apply pressure with a fingernail or stylus to get it to respond. Even with its capacitive advantage, the screen could be more responsive, though. At times, we felt the phone took too long to respond, although it isn’t the slowest phone we’ve used by any means.
Nokia Ovi Store on the X6
Music isn’t the only thing you can download onto the X6. Slowly but surely, the Ovi Store is developing into a handy place to get apps for Nokia phones. The X6 makes it easy to get started, providing links on the home screen to the Ovi Store and other Ovi features, such as email and an online calendar.
Ovi is still hit and miss. You can’t sync your Ovi calendars with other online calendars, like Google’s, for example. But it’s a good service to have if you want to back up your photos online or manage your contacts on the Web instead of on the phone.
Nokia X6 Musical Features and Capabilities: The strong point?
With its 32GB of memory and Nokia’s Comes With Music service, the Music is the main attraction here. With a year’s worth of free downloads, we are free to choose from zillions of music tracks. The tracks are chained-down with DRM, so you can’t listen to them on your other music players, but you can keep them on the phone even if you choose not to renew your subscription to Comes With Music after your free year is up.
Nokia has released yet another version of its desktop syncing software to help you get music on and off the phone, and it’s an improvement on previous versions. Now called Nokia Ovi Suite, the software is a good attempt at creating an iTunes-style music store. We found downloading tracks easy, and syncing the phone was surprisingly simple. We particularly like the ability to sync the phone over Bluetooth, so, if your laptop has built-in Bluetooth, you may never have to break out the USB cable once the phone is set up. You can also download tunes directly onto the phone when you’re on the move.
Once you’ve helped yourself to some free music, you can listen to it on your own headphones, thanks to the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. We weren’t blown away by the audio quality, though, especially at low volumes, and even when we were using high-end cans. The volume settings also leap too quickly from tinny and quiet to deafeningly loud.
Calls don’t benefit from this music phone’s pedigree. In our tests, they sounded tinny both to us and the recipients of our calls. Nevertheless, with its huge storage and access to endless free tracks, the X6 makes for a top-notch music phone.
Nokia X6 Camera Review: Fast and Excellent
The X6’s 5-megapixel camera is a pleasure to use, thanks to its fast shutter speed. You can capture snapshots without having to wait around, even when shooting at the highest quality settings. For a phone, its photos are excellent too, with bright colours and sharp edges, although they can’t compare to photos taken with a proper camera. The two LED photo lights are harsh, but do a good job of illuminating dark situations in which you’d otherwise get no shot at all.
Nokia X3 review Conclusion
For music lovers who just love to get free musics, you can find it on the X6 with 1 year free music downloads and 32 GB of memory. The screen is quite nice, much better than Nokia 5800 XpressMusic in terms of functionality and looks. An excellent camera and standard 3.5mm headphone jack are the gravy on top of this tasty package. So overall, I think that the X6 is a great touchscreen music phone; proofing that Nokia is seriously trying to overcome their phones’ touchscreen features trouble.
Strong points: Capacitive touchscreen; standard 3.5mm headphone jack; 32GB of on-board memory; access to free music; good desktop syncing software; takes decent photos
Weaknesses: tinny call quality; average sound quality; Ovi Store can use some improvements; Symbian user interface is rather dated; and it is not very user-friendly.
So that’s about it. What do you think about the Nokia X6 review? We also compared theNokia X6 vs N97. You might find it interesting how both of them share many similar features…. And in addition, there’s Nokia X6 vs HTC HD2 and Nokia X3 review.

Nokia X3 Review from Nokia Xseries

Yeah, we understand that for some of us the price tag of the Nokia X6 multimedia smartphone is just too high. But there’s an alternative if you are still insisted to get a brand new Nokia Xseries phone, and here it is, the Nokia X3. The current price is £10-per-month, 24-month contract. You can also pick it up for around £90 on a pay-as-you-go deal, or £120 SIM-free. So what we have here is a Nokia X3 review, and we will talk about the X3’s design, X3’s screen, X3′ s OS, X3 features, X3 specs etc. So let’s just start, shall we?
We’ve talked about the Nokia X3 Specs and Features, so let’s just skip it and go to the design part.
Nokia X3 Design Review
The Nokia X3 has a rather similar nuance of design compared to the Nokia X6. Whereas the X6 is an all-singing, all-dancing touchscreen device with the bare minimum of physical controls, the X3 is a pretty traditional slider phone with a small screen and no 3G or Wi-Fi support.
Series 40 has plenty of other neat features, but its clunky design makes it feel rather dated. At least moving through the menus has been made pretty straightforward, thanks to the phone’s large direction pad. Although the keys on the slide-out keypad are very flat, they’re actually quite responsive, so it’s fairly easy to quickly tap out long text messages.
Nokia X3 Screen Review
In fact, even by slider-phone standards, the X3’s 56mm (2.2-inch) screen is pretty tiny. Its low resolution of just 240×320 pixels isn’t great either, but it’s the viewing angle that is its most annoying limitation. Turn it slightly to the left or right, and colours look either very dark or completely washed-out.
Nokia X3 OS and UI (Symbian)
The X3 uses Nokia’s Series 40 software, rather than the more advanced Series 60 operating system that you’ll find on X6. The version of Series 40 used on the X3 has, however, been updated to support the Ovi Store, letting you buy and download new applications directly from the handset.
Nokia X3 Music Features
The X3 is primarily being promoted as a music phone, so it’s no surprise to find a column of dedicated music buttons lined up vertically to the left of the display. These give you quick access to the track-skip and play/pause controls.
There’s also a standard 3.5mm headphone jack at the top of the phone, so you can easily swap the included headphones for your own cans if you want. The supplied headphones aren’t all that bad, however. They offer decent bass response and, although they’re rather lacking when it comes to the higher frequencies, you can compensate for this slightly using the music player’s equaliser control.
The music player actually looks rather basic, but it’s pretty simple to use. Songs are sorted into the usual album, artist and track-title categories. Album art is also supported, although there’s no flashy navigation feature, as there is on the iPhone, with its Cover Flow feature, and some other recent touchscreen handsets.
Nokia X3 Camera review
Unfortunately, the phone’s camera is rather disappointing. It’s only got a 3.2-megapixel resolution and, while colours in photos captured outdoors look rich and vibrant, the lack of a flash means indoor shots are very dark and grainy. There’s no autofocus either, so you have to be quite careful when framing your photos to avoid camera blur.
Calling quality and Battery life
If there’s one area where Nokia phones usually excel, it’s call quality, but the company has dropped the ball with the X3. Even though we tried the phone in a number of strong-signal areas, call quality was mediocre at best, and downright awful at worst. Sometimes, even with full signal strength, callers would sound overly robotic, as if the signal were breaking up.
At least the X3’s battery life isn’t bad. We got around three days out of it before it needed to be topped up with juice.
Nokia X3 Review Conclusion
Well, let’s just say the phone specs and features can’t make us jumping off our chair. The lack of 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity is still acceptable, due to its low price. However, the low call quality and poor display are quite disappointments for me. The phone just stands as a good music phone, not a great one.

Other features include a 5 megapixelAuto Focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash, integrated A-GPS with OviMaps 3.0, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, and USB 2.0 High-Speed.

[Rumor] England (UK) will get Nokia X6 on 12th November?

After a while finally we heard rumor once again about the Nokia X6, one of the first two Xseries phone revealed. According to the buzz over at the internet, it seems that the Nokia X6 will likely come to UK (England) starting on 12th of November.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
In an internet e-store named Expansys, the Nokia X6 is currently offered for 529.99 GBP ($878). But the price that Nokia set on this device was initially €450 (405 GBP), so I believe that when the announcement comes, the price will be around that number.
We’ve talked about the Nokia X6 Full Specs and Features, but just to be short, the Nokia X6 is basically a high-end Symbian touchscreen phone that comes with HSDPA, Wi-Fi (with UPnP), 3.5mm headset jack, TV out, 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, and 32GB of internal memory.
